I did a Forestry degree and spent the first 10 years of my working life in the forest doing management and measurement work. Then went on to residential construction for a few years until tendonitis in my elbow meant I couldn’t swing a hammer anymore. From there I got into industrial recruitment which is where I realised that sales is what I enjoy. I have been with Real Steel for 10 years now.
MORE ABOUT SIMON:
I have a five acre property north of Auckland and love working on that, there is always some building, landscaping or tree planting/cutting that needs doing.
I keep pigs, the breed is Canterbury Blue and I have 2 sows and a boar so there are often piglets running around.
I enjoy mountain biking and spend a lot of time looking after my ever growing collection of Bonsai trees
This is the path to the front door of the house I built in Wellington. The stone wall was from rocks I got out of the Hutt River. It was about 25m long and took two summers to build. I love the copper beech hedging combined with the rocks and timber.
This is my home office that I built over several years and finally finished during lockdown. It’s made of Corten steel cladding courtesy of Real Steel.
I made this swimming pool – with over 100T of rocks used in the landscaping. You can see my Corten fire pit canopy in the background.
